Wife beats hubby to death

A 42-YEAR-OLD man of Lusaka’s Mtendere has died after allegedly being beaten by his wife, Mable Banda, who was in the company of two other unidentified people. The incident happened on Friday after a marital dispute. Police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale named the victim, who was initially admitted to Mtendere Clinic after the fight, as Golden Lunda, of Mtendere Township. Initial police investigations reveal that the altercation between the couple happened on January 6 between 21:00 hours and 23:00 hours. Mr Mwale said the ordeal was reported to the police on January 7 by the victim’s sister of Kalingalinga Township. “The suspect is currently detained in police custody and investigations to find other accomplices have been instituted,” he said. In Kitwe, a 20-year-old woman of Mpongwe was on Saturday allegedly raped by a barber of the same area who broke into her house at night while she was asleep.
