Journalist accused of sodomy avails self before police
TWO males of Kafue district in Lusaka province have been arrested, while three others are on the run after six juvenile girls aged between 11 and 15-years-old that had allegedly run away from home were found cohabiting with them.
The two males aged 24 and 29-years old are believed to have been habouring the girls in an unfinished house and they have since been charged with defilement, while a manhunt has been launched to bring to book the other three.
Zambia Police deputy Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale said the incident was first reported as that of a case of abduction, but that it was later established that the girls had run away from their parents houses.
Mr Mwale said the incident occurred between October 8 and 27 this year at an unmarked house in Kafue Estates.
“Two people have been apprehended by Police in Kafue District for defilement. It was reported that six female juveniles aged between 11 and 15 were abducted by five males who live in an unfinished house in Kafue Estates.Police instituted investigations into the matter and one female juvenile was found with one suspect in the same unfinished house and both of them were picked for interrogations,” he said.
He said investigations revealed that the girls were not abducted as alleged ,but ran away from their parent’s houses and would return after some days.
“The victims were taken to Kafue District Hospital for medical examination.Police are looking for the three other suspects who are on the run,” he said.
